Software development tips for your business

by Jason Fletcher | Mar 22, 2017

Think big, start small.

Custom software doesn’t have to be expensive. When developing a piece of software it can be a lot more cost effective if you break the system up into modules. This way you can get the most critical sections created and implemented first, and then start to add other features that would be nice to have.

Can this be done by a computer?

Many companies will have a process that takes a human several hours out of their day to complete. 9/10 times this kind of process can be translated into a computer program. For example, a client had a website that would need to be monitored throughout the day. We were asked to produce a piece of software that would monitor the site and send an email when something had changed. By moving the process to a computer program, the client was able to free up valuable staff time spent checking the website for changes. Now they are notified instantly when something does change.
